Velcro Roller Setting

So as I promised I will be talking about how I get my hair nice and voluminous without backcombing!

I used to backcomb a lot but now it hurts my hands and my shoulders too much so its saved for when super big punk hair is needed. Or when doing small sections like victory rolls.

So my friend gave me a set of Velcro rollers to try out, I haven't ever really used ones before but I watched the video on vintageortacky's youtube and tried it out for myself. I really like her videos and you should definitely check them out! 

So here's how I do my hair to get nice volume:

what I use are 

• Hempz volumizing shampoo
• my Whal hair dryer
• hair dye drying towel(colorful and only used for when my hair is newly coloured)
• morocan oil serum
• my Chi straightener on high
• Bigsexyhair "spray and play" hair spray
• Velcro rollers 3 biggest sizes

1. wash my hair using the hempz volumizing shampoo, I didn't use conditioner this time. Using colder water as not to fade the red as fast.

2. dry my hair with a towel as much as I can. as mentioned above, my towel was a colourful towel that I use only when I have freshly dyed hair so it doesn't wreck the other nicer towels I have.

3. dry my hair with the hair dryer, combing it over the side and blowing it from underneath to get more volume. I also blow from under and at the back and head bang a little to get even more volume

4. to take the frizz out and to condition it; I use a penny sized drop of serum and run it through my hair, working on the ends and seal  and straighten it with my hair straightener. My hair is thick and can take a lot so I leave it on high, which usually isn't good for most hair.

5. so then using the 3rd biggest size(yellow in my set) I do smaller sections on the bottom section of my scalp

6.the 2nd biggest size(red) are along the middle of my scalp, I used about 4 around my whole head

7. the biggest set(purple) I use 3 along the top of my head, rolling the hair towards the back expect for the one for my bangs which I roll towards forwards/towards my face.

8.I spray a little setting hair spray to help. Then let set and do my makeup!

9.take out, style hair, which in this case was just brush my bangs back to their side swept setting

10.spray in place with hair spray and finished!

so that's how I've learnt how to get good volume without wrecking the hell out of your hair with backcombing.
